Urethane is Recyclable| Although Polyurethane is taxonomically thermo-setting resin, not like other thermo-setting resins it shows verious characteristics according to temperature. So it is a polyvariant resin. A bumper made of polyurethane, for example, it shows thermo-setting property between -50 and +30 degrees centigrade. At 160 degree centigrade it becomes thermoplastic. At 200 degrees centigrade it begins to desolve to monomers (Depolymerization). At 230 degrees it decomposes simpler chemical compound (thermally-degradable). Various recycling technologies have been developed in various characteristic ranges by using this polyvariant property. |
